Test Principle
Firstly submerge the specimen in the water in the vacuum chamber, and then evacuate the vacuum chamber to form differential pressure between the inside and outside of specimen. The seal property can be obtained by observing the steady progression of bubbles from the specimen or observing how the specimen expands and restores to its original shape after vacuum release.

FAQ's of Air-tightness Test Instrument for Ensuring Food and Medicine Packaging:
Q: How does the air-tightness test instrument detect leaks in packaging?
A: The instrument employs the vacuum decay method, which involves reducing the chamber pressure and monitoring for changes in pressure. Any increase in pressure indicates a leak in the package under test, which is signaled by the built-in audio-visual alarm system.
Q: What types of packaging materials and sizes can be tested with this equipment?
A: The instrument can test a single package specimen up to 300 x 300 mm in size and up to 350 mm chamber height, covering a wide range of food and medicine packaging materials commonly used by manufacturers and exporters.
Q: When should I calibrate the machine, and can this be done automatically?
A: Calibration should be performed routinely or whenever the accuracy of results is in question. The equipment supports both manual and automatic calibration modes, allowing users to select based on their operational preferences and requirements.
Q: Where can this instrument be installed and used most effectively?
A: Designed as a tabletop model, the instrument is suitable for laboratories, quality control departments, or production lines within food and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. Its semi-automatic operation and moderate machine weight ensure easy placement and portability.
Q: What is the process for conducting an air-tightness test using this device?
A: To conduct a test, place the specimen inside the acrylic chamber and close the lid. Set the test parameters on the digital control panel. The instrument will automatically regulate vacuum and monitor pressure decay, displaying results on the LCD screen and saving data for up to 100 tests.
Q: How is data handled and exported with this testing instrument?
A: The device can store up to 100 records internally, which users can export through USB or RS232 ports. This makes data transfer to external devices or integration with laboratory information management systems efficient and straightforward.
Q: What are the benefits of using this air-tightness test instrument for packaging applications?
A: Using this instrument ensures the integrity of food and medicine packaging, reduces risk of contamination, and safeguards product quality. Its fast response time, high accuracy, and comprehensive safety features make it ideal for compliance, quality assurance, and streamlined manufacturing processes.
