Testing Principle
The pre-treated sample is clamped between the test chambers, oxygen or nitrogen with stable relative humidity flows on one side of the film, and the high purity nitrogen flows on the other side; oxygen or water molecules diffuse through the film into high-purity nitrogen on the other side, and are carried to the sensor by the flowing nitrogen. By analyzing the oxygen or water vapor concentration measured by the sensor, the oxygen or water vapor transmission rate can be calculated.

FAQ's of Medication Tube Material Properties, Barrier Tests, and Leakage Detection:
Q: How does the Medication Tube Barrier Tester detect and measure leakage in medication tubes?
A: The tester employs air-pressure and hydrostatic leakage methods to assess the integrity of pharmaceutical tubes. By precisely monitoring the pressure drop and fluid movement through the material, the system identifies leaks down to a measuring range of 0-250 ml/min with high resolution and accuracy. Visual and audio alarms are triggered if leakage exceeds set thresholds, ensuring prompt detection.
Q: What types of materials and tube sizes can be tested with this equipment?
A: This device supports testing on plastic, aluminum, and laminated medication tubes. With interchangeable specimen holders, it can handle up to 10 specimens simultaneously, accommodating standard tube sizes of 85 mm x 150 mm, up to a test width of 200 mm and a maximum height of 400 mm, making it suitable for diverse pharmaceutical packaging formats.
Q: When should calibration be performed on the Barrier Tester, and what options are available?
A: Regular calibration is recommended to ensure test accuracy, especially after intensive use or when results show inconsistencies. The tester provides both auto and manual calibration modes, allowing users to maintain reliable measurement standards as required by ASTM F1249 and ISO 11607 guidelines.
Q: Where is the data from tests stored and how can it be exported?
A: The instrument integrates memory storage for up to 500 test records. Users can export reports and raw data via RS232 or USB interfaces in convenient CSV or Excel formats, supporting comprehensive documentation and further analysis.
Q: What is the process for conducting a barrier or leakage test using this tester?
A: Simply mount the specimen using the interchangeable holder, select the desired test method (air-pressure or hydrostatic), and adjust the parameters like test speed or stroke on the microprocessor interface. The automated system runs the test, analyzing results in real time and storing data for future reference, while instant alert systems notify users of any failures.
Q: How does using this equipment benefit pharmaceutical manufacturers?
A: Pharmaceutical manufacturers benefit from improved packaging quality assurance, ensuring product safety, reducing recalls, and meeting regulatory requirements efficiently. Automatic data handling, rapid testing speeds, and integrated reporting help streamline quality control operations, saving time and enhancing laboratory productivity.
