Test Principle
The gas in the sample is pumped into the sensor through the vacuum pump, and the sensor outputs the real time current and voltage signals of O2 and CO2 (optional) concentration of the gas in the sample. The instrument calculates the content of O2 and CO2 (optional) in the gas by obtaining the current and voltage signal output by the sensor. After reaching the requirements for ending the tests, the tests stop, and the instrument records the concentration of O2 and CO2 (optional) in the gas tested in the sample.

FAQ's of Headspace oxygen analyser for MAP packaging:
Q: How does the Headspace Oxygen Analyzer operate for MAP packaging analysis?
A: The analyzer uses a needle puncture sampling method to extract 1-2 ml of headspace gas from packaging. Oxygen levels are measured immediately using a highly sensitive electrochemical sensor, with results displayed on a digital touchscreen in under 10 seconds.
Q: What is the process for calibrating the Headspace Oxygen Analyzer?
A: Calibration can be performed automatically or manually with standard gases. The touchscreen interface guides users through calibration steps, ensuring consistent and accurate readings in every test cycle.
Q: When should data logging be utilized on this oxygen analyzer?
A: Data logging is ideal during routine quality control, research, or validation procedures. The analyzer can record up to 1000 results, supporting traceability and later analysis. Critical for regulatory compliance, stored data can be exported via USB or RS232.
Q: Where is this equipment best suited for use?
A: This analyzer is designed for desktop or benchtop use in packaging labs, food manufacturing facilities, and quality assurance departments, especially those handling MAP packaging of food, pharmaceuticals, or other products requiring controlled atmospheres.
Q: What are the main benefits of using a portable Headspace Oxygen Analyzer?
A: Benefits include high measurement accuracy (0.1% O2), rapid testing, user-replaceable sensor, low maintenance, and flexible battery or mains power operation. It improves packaging quality control by ensuring oxygen levels remain within desired ranges, reducing spoilage and extending shelf life.
Q: How can alarms improve safety during oxygen analysis?
A: Visual and audible alarms immediately notify users if oxygen levels fall outside preset thresholds, allowing prompt corrective action. This feature is vital for maintaining optimal atmospheric conditions and minimizing risk of product deterioration.
Q: What is required to prepare a specimen for testing with this analyzer?
A: Each specimen must be a MAP package with a minimum area of 80x80 mm. The needle puncture method is used to sample headspace gas, making specimen preparation quick and simple before conducting the test.
