Test Principle
The gas inside the test package is brought to the gas sensor by the air pump. The instrument analyzes the volume of oxygen and carbon dioxide (optional) contained in the sample gas by calculating the electrical signals generated by the gas sensor. When the preset condition is met, the test is completed and the system records the oxygen and carbon dioxide (optional) concentration.
Applications
| Basic Applications |
- Packaging Bags
Test the volume of O2 and CO2 (optional) in headspace of non-vacuum sealed packaging bags of coffee, cheese, milk tea, milk powder, bread, bean powder, instant food and drugs, etc.
|
- Packaging Containers
Test the volume of O2 and CO2 (optional) in headspace of packaging containers of coffee, milk powder, food, cheese, can, Tetra Pak and beverage, etc.

FAQ's of Headspace Gas Analysis Technique for Monitoring Gas Composition within Packaging:
Q: How does the Automated Headspace Gas Analyzer detect oxygen and carbon dioxide in packaging?
A: The analyzer employs an electrochemical sensor to measure oxygen and an infrared (IR) sensor to quantify carbon dioxide, providing non-destructive testing of package headspace with high accuracy and rapid response times.
Q: What types of samples and specimen sizes can be tested with this instrument?
A: It supports customizable specimens from 30 30 mm to 240 240 mm and up to 340 mm in height, allowing monitoring of various package formats. Up to three specimen tests can be conducted simultaneously using single or multiple vial options.
Q: When should calibration be performed and how is it managed?
A: Calibration is automatic and follows a two-point procedure, ensuring consistent measurement accuracy. The system prompts users when calibration is due, streamlining operation and reducing error risk.
Q: Where can this analyzer be integrated within a workflow?
A: Designed for benchtop use, the analyzer fits seamlessly into both laboratory and production line environments, making it ideal for quality assurance in food, pharmaceutical, and packaging industries.
Q: What is the process for data management and reporting?
A: Analysis results are stored internally (up to 1,000 results), and can be exported via USB or RS-232 interfaces. The included PC software facilitates further analysis, report generation, and data archiving.
Q: How do programmable alarms enhance operational safety?
A: Users can set specific threshold alarms for gas concentrations, which alert the operator if measurements exceed safe or desired limits, enabling prompt intervention to maintain product integrity.
